Outreach: Radio

Derek Prince, through radio, literature and new media, is the most well-known individual Bible teacher in China today.

His teachings fall like refreshing rain on Chinese believers.

For many years DPM China has considered the use of radio transmissions of Derek’s talks (translated into Mandarin) to be of paramount importance in attaining our goal of “reaching the unreached”.

During our 20 year history we have produced and have had aired, on several radio frequencies, over 1500 broadcasts and are currently re-running the The Workman God Approves on FEBC (Far East Broadcasting Corporation). There has been good response to these broadcasts. Listeners in China write:

  • "I love to listen to The Way of Holiness, taught by Mr Ye. Please send me the notes."
  • "I listen to Yi-you Station 2 every night and enjoy your program".

And here is part of an e-mail responding to the Foundation Series. The listener from Jiangsu wrote,

  • "I don't object to speaking in tongues and want to know more about the charismatic movement. Please teach me."

Derek’s radio programmes continue to be broadcast into China via the Far East Broadcasting Company (FEBC) and are also available for download through the FEBC website. While it is difficult to know how many people are listening to the live radio programmes, we can gauge something of their popularity through the number of programmes downloaded from the website. This number has been steadily increasing in recent months, but even more encouraging were the latest figures received from FEBC. These showed a dramatic increase in many of the programmes that have been downloaded recently.
